Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Providence, Rhode Island office. The firm provides exceptional legal representation to clients throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, handling sophisticated litigation matters across a broad range of practice areas including product liability, premises liability, insurance coverage, construction, transportation, employment law, and workers' compensation defense.

Duties

• Manage all phases of civil litigation, including conducting and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and performing legal research and analysis.


• Attend court conferences and hearings, manage client communications, and counsel clients on case strategy and developments.


• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations, preparing cases for trial and actively participating in trial proceedings.


 

Requirements

• Active admission to the Rhode Island Bar is required.


• Strong preference for candidates with prior insurance defense experience.


• Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills are essential.


• Demonstrated strong oral advocacy and communication abilities.


• Proven case management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.


• Massachusetts and/or Connecticut Bar admission is a plus.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Rhode Island.


 

Skills

• Expertise in civil litigation procedures and trial preparation.


• Strong client counseling and relationship management capabilities.


• Ability to handle complex matters involving multiple jurisdictions.
