Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with exceptional legal research, analysis, and persuasive writing skills to join their team in Towson, MD. This in-person position focuses on high-volume litigation across multiple practice areas, including personal injury, medical malpractice, and general civil matters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling complex legal issues and advocating for clients through thorough preparation and strong written advocacy.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to identify controlling legal issues and applicable authority.


• Draft persuasive motions, memoranda, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive court filings.


• Review and analyze discovery, deposition testimony, medical records, and other evidence to support case strategy.


• Develop and present written legal arguments, anticipating counterarguments and addressing weaknesses in opposing positions.


• Assist with litigation strategy, case development, and preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.


• Manage multiple assignments while meeting strict court deadlines and collaborating with experienced trial attorneys.


 

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in Maryland or currently awaiting Maryland Bar admission.


• Strong litigation experience is preferred, though exceptional newer attorneys with strong writing skills will be considered.


• Ability to independently research and resolve unfamiliar legal issues with high accuracy and attention to detail.


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment with a strong work ethic and initiative.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.


 

Certifications

• Active Maryland Bar membership or pending admission.


 

Skills

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills with a focus on persuasive advocacy.


• Strong understanding of legal procedure, litigation principles, and civil practice.


• Excellent grammar, citation accuracy, organization, and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.


• Ability to draft substantive litigation motions, appellate briefs, and complex legal memoranda.


• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, counsel, and court personnel.
