Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Probate Attorney in San Diego, CA, to join a growing litigation and family law group serving California individuals and businesses. This remote role involves handling probate, wills, trusts, and estate litigation while supporting broader civil practice needs.

Duties

• Meet with clients, draft pleadings, and conduct legal research and writing.


• Administer depositions, propound and respond to discovery, and interview witnesses.


• Argue motions, make court appearances, and participate in trials, mediations, and arbitrations.


• Negotiate settlements, draft agreements, and handle family law cases as requested.


 

Requirements

• Must be a licensed California attorney with excellent academic credentials.


• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a licensed attorney.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in probate, wills, trusts, and estate litigation.


• Strong work ethic, reliability, and exemplary client service skills with prompt response times.


• Detail-oriented with strong drafting, negotiating, and analytical problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage workflow independently to meet firm deadlines and business objectives.


• Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure is required.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California.


 

Skills

• Ability to communicate complex legal subject matter to non-attorneys.


• Business judgment and strategic legal thinking capabilities.


• Courtroom experience is preferred but not a prerequisite.
