Duties

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, including commercial litigation and general liability matters.
• Handle complex litigation matters such as business disputes and negligence claims.
• Collaborate with attorneys and partners on case strategy and legal projects.
• Conduct and defend depositions, attend court appearances, and represent clients in litigation stages.
• Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to requests.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop litigation strategies.
• Maintain communication with clients, providing case updates and recommendations.
• Evaluate case exposure and assist in developing favorable strategies.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York and in good standing.
• 1+ years of experience in commercial and/or liability defense litigation.
• Experience with business disputes, contract disputes, and negligence claims preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rules of evidence, civil procedure, and litigation practices.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with others.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in New York.
