Job Overview:

A plaintiff-side employment law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney for a fully remote position available to attorneys located throughout California. The attorney will independently manage an employment litigation caseload from inception through resolution while working within a collaborative, technology-driven environment. The role involves significant responsibility for litigation strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, negotiation, and trial preparation. Candidates should have at least 5 years of employment litigation experience and an active California Bar license.

Duties:

• Manage plaintiff-side employment litigation matters from inception through final resolution.
• Develop litigation strategies and make substantive case management decisions.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, mediation briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex employment law and litigation issues.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and argue motions.
• Prepare cases for mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable client outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and strategy.
• Provide responsive and professional client service throughout the litigation process.
• Use cloud-based legal technology, automation tools, dashboards, and case management systems.
• Collaborate remotely with attorneys and other legal professionals.
• Manage a substantial caseload while maintaining deadlines and case priorities.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of employment litigation experience.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Experience independently managing litigation matters.
• Strong experience with pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload effectively.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to develop and execute litigation strategies independently.
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to case management.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote and technology-driven environment.
• Willingness to collaborate with attorneys and support professionals while independently managing assigned matters.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
