Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate with 1-3 years of experience to join its Litigation Section in Tysons, Virginia. The successful candidate will engage in government investigations, regulatory enforcement matters, international trade counseling, customs-related disputes, and complex commercial litigation. This role involves working on cases before federal district courts and the U.S. Court of International Trade, offering substantial client contact and collaboration with experienced trial lawyers.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.
• Assist with all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, depositions, and witness preparation.
• Support government investigations, regulatory proceedings, and litigation matters.
• Assist with international trade counseling and customs-related advice for domestic and multinational clients.
• Work directly with partners and clients on case strategy, investigations, and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate across practices on matters involving domestic and international business issues.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm, government agency, or judicial clerkship.
• Excellent academic credentials, research skills, and written and oral advocacy abilities.
• Experience with legal research, motion practice, discovery, and client-facing assignments.
• Strong interest in government investigations, regulatory enforcement matters, and complex litigation.
• International trade, customs, tariff, or related regulatory experience is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of practice.
