A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense Attorney in Shelton, CT, to support its expanding practice across Connecticut. This full-time role offers an opportunity for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys to gain hands-on courtroom experience and make a significant impact in the field of criminal defense.

Duties

• Manage your own caseload.
• Assist with pre-arrest representation and motor vehicle violation cases.
• Maintain professional communication with clients using firm systems.
• Follow protocols for documentation and maintain accurate file notes.
• Appear in court for arraignments, pretrials, and other proceedings.
• Draft and file motions as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Requirements

• Must be an active Bar member in good standing.
• Reside in Connecticut.
• Willing to travel across Connecticut, including Fairfield or New Haven Counties.
• Demonstrated adaptability in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Comfortable using Macs and legal research tools.
• 1-20 years of experience preferred; new attorneys will be trained.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in Connecticut.
