A law firm seeks a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property group in Las Vegas, NV. The role involves leveraging advanced technologies to handle wireless communications, electronics, AI, and software matters, alongside client counseling and post-grant work.

Duties

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications with a focus on complex technical inventions.


• Provide strategic client counseling regarding standards-essential patents and intellectual property portfolios.


• Engage in post-grant patent work and support cross-functional teams on innovative legal projects.


 

Requirements

• 3-5 years of dedicated experience in patent preparation and prosecution.


• Strong academic record with a technical degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, or equivalent fields.


• Experience in wireless telecommunications, communication networks, electrical hardware, software, computer networks, semiconductors, storage devices, circuits, memory, cloud computing, data security, mechanical inventions, medical devices, or digital health is preferred.


• Demonstrated growth mindset, team orientation, and ability to thrive in an innovative culture.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.


• Technical degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.


 

Certifications

• Active registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.

• Expertise in patent prosecution strategies and USPTO procedures.


• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
