Job Overview

A law firm seeks a diligent and driven attorney with over four years of experience for its growing corporate practice in Chicago, IL. The role involves advising entrepreneurs, startups, and venture capital funds as outside counsel. The position is currently remote, transitioning to a hybrid model.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Communicate with clients to address open issues and tasks.
• Supervise associates and staff to efficiently achieve client goals.
• Interface with internal and external specialist counsel as needed for client issues.
• Prepare, review, revise, and finalize agreements for use by clients.
• Build a book of business with full firm support, resources, and guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of transactional legal experience as a licensed attorney.
• An existing book of business, or other demonstrated capacity for business development.
• Excellent communication, organization, and document management skills.
• Willingness to improve technical, legal, and business skills on the job.
• Interest in and passion for entrepreneurship required; prior experience with startups a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

• Strong research and drafting abilities.
• Proficient in business development and negotiation.
• Effective client counseling skills.
