A law firm seeks an experienced Commercial Vehicle Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation team in Houston, Texas. This role requires a confident litigator with proven plaintiff-side experience handling complex commercial motor vehicle cases, including 18-wheeler accidents and trucking collisions. The ideal candidate will independently manage high-value matters from filing through trial, developing aggressive strategies to advocate for injured clients.

Duties

• Manage a full caseload of commercial vehicle personal injury litigation matters from initial filing through resolution or trial.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses while investigating liability and evaluating damages.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses to build strong case narratives.
• Handle mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation while collaborating with accident reconstruction experts and medical professionals.
• Develop litigation strategies to maximize case value and maintain consistent communication with clients and support staff.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
• Demonstrated plaintiff-side commercial vehicle personal injury litigation experience is required; general personal injury or insurance defense experience alone is insufficient.
• Proven experience handling 18-wheeler, trucking, or other commercial motor vehicle accident cases.
• Strong knowledge of Texas personal injury law, civil litigation procedures, and commercial vehicle liability.
• Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters with strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Texas law license.

Skills

• First-chair or second-chair trial experience in commercial vehicle personal injury cases.
• Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
• Experience litigating catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims.
• Experience using Filevine or similar legal case management software.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is a plus.
