Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of civil litigation experience to join their Tampa, FL office. This role focuses on general liability litigation, offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work directly with clients, and actively participate in case strategy and management.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
• Take and defend depositions, attend hearings and mediations, and assist with trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Work directly with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with supervising attorneys to develop litigation strategy and achieve successful outcomes.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience in general liability, casualty, premises liability, product liability, or complex litigation preferred.
• Ability to manage cases with increasing independence and responsibility.
• Experience handling depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Florida.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.
