A law firm seeks an Associate in the Tax Department specializing in Executive Compensation, Employment & Benefits in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of two years of relevant experience to advise clients on complex compensation structures, employee benefits, and multi-jurisdictional employment matters within the context of corporate transactions.

Duties

• Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate transactions, including multi-billion dollar mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets deals.



• Tailor compensation arrangements and address complex employee benefits issues while optimizing plan design for tax and securities law compliance.



• Collaborate with global colleagues to provide insights on tax, securities, labor, and corporate governance issues across various industries.



• Develop commercial and practical workforce solutions by leveraging sophisticated understanding of legal landscapes and market practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in benefits and compensation law.



• Ability to handle challenging compensation, employee benefits, and employment issues for clients ranging from startups to financial institutions.



• Capacity to work as an integrated part of the client's team in a global, cross-office collaborative environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
