A law firm seeks a Trust And Estate Attorney to join its Boston and Provincetown, MA offices. This full-time role requires 5+ years of experience in estate planning and trust administration, with a focus on high-net-worth clients. The position involves building and leading the practice while collaborating with wealth management advisors.

Duties

• Build and lead the estate planning practice, setting financial goals and formalizing processes in collaboration with current leadership.



• Conduct initial consultations, review financial documents, and draft tailored estate plans including trusts, wills, and powers of attorney.



• Advise on asset protection, tax planning, business succession, and charitable giving, utilizing WealthCounsel software for drafting.



• Guide executors and trustees through complex estate and trust administration, including court filings, accountings, and distributions.



• Cultivate existing clients, convert real estate clients into estate planning clients, and develop referral relationships with financial advisors.



• Manage caseloads, respond to client inquiries promptly, and maintain accurate files from initial engagement through document recording.

Requirements

• Hold a J.D. and be a licensed member in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.



• Demonstrate 5+ years of estate planning experience, specifically with high-net-worth clients and complex estate administration.



• Have hands-on experience using WealthCounsel software for drafting and practice management.



• Exhibit strong knowledge of tax planning, business succession, and Massachusetts real estate conveyancing.



• Showcase excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.



• Display comfort with social media for practice development and experience collaborating with wealth management professionals.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.



• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Massachusetts.



• Membership in the Massachusetts Bar Association or a trusts and estates bar section is preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in WealthCounsel software for estate planning document generation.



• Strong ability to multi-task, maintain organization, and work as a flexible self-starter.



• Empathetic communication skills with a commitment to exceptional client service during sensitive matters.



• Ability to build and maintain professional referral networks with accountants and financial advisors.
