Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate to join its Columbus, Ohio office. The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 7 years of experience counseling clients on employment issues, reviewing handbooks and contracts, and representing clients in single plaintiff and collective action litigation.

Duties

• Counsel clients on a variety of employment law issues and review employment handbooks and contracts.



• Represent clients in single plaintiff and collective action litigation, including wage & hour, discrimination, and retaliation claims.



• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal writing for litigation and advisory matters.

Requirements

• Admitted to the Ohio Bar or in the process of being admitted, with good standing.



• 5 to 7 years of experience in employment law litigation and counseling.



• Superior academic record and a strong work ethic.



• Excellent writing and research skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Ohio Bar membership or pending admission.

Skills

• Experience with wage & hour, discrimination, and retaliation claims.



• Traditional labor experience, such as NLRB administrative and enforcement proceedings, grievances, and labor arbitration, is a plus but not required.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $190,000-$235,000 annually, determined by experience and skillset.
