A law firm seeks a Trial Attorney in Newport Beach, CA, to join its growing personal injury practice. The ideal candidate will manage a plaintiff-side caseload from filing through trial, collaborating with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and maximize client recoveries.

Duties

• Independently manage a plaintiff-side personal injury litigation caseload from initial filing through settlement or trial.



• Develop comprehensive litigation strategies, evaluate liability and damages, and prepare cases for trial.



• Serve as first-chair trial counsel, presenting arguments, examining witnesses, and introducing evidence.



• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, trial briefs, and other essential legal documents.



• Conduct and defend depositions, oversee discovery, manage expert witnesses, and monitor litigation deadlines.



• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to maximize client recoveries.



• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress, strategy, and trial expectations.



• Collaborate with paralegals and case managers to ensure efficient case preparation and resolution.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in California and in good standing with the California Bar Association.



• Minimum of 3-5 years of prior experience in personal injury litigation.



• At least 3 first-chair plaintiff personal injury trials.



• Demonstrated success in personal injury cases, including significant settlements and verdicts.



• Ability to work independently and handle a large caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California Bar membership.

Skills

• In-depth understanding of personal injury laws, regulations, and legal procedures.



• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.



• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.



• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research software.



• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
