Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its real estate transactional group in Columbus, Ohio. The role involves coordinating and assisting on commercial real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, development, financing, and leasing. Ideal candidates will have experience in drafting, negotiating, and closing complex real estate transactions, along with strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.

Duties

• Handle and assist on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions from inception through resolution, including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, easements, and development.
• Manage and oversee client communications and maintain strong client relationships.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, and other transactional documents.
• Review title commitments and underlying title documents in conjunction with ALTA Surveys; prepare title objection letters.
• Advise clients on deal structuring and risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience in transactional real estate law.
• An interest in working on commercial real estate transactions.
• Actively licensed and in good standing to practice law in Ohio.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
