A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented labor and employment associate with a minimum of two years of broad-based employment counseling experience to join its dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. This non-litigation role offers the opportunity to work in close collaboration with practices across the firm, providing exceptional legal services regarding employment matters in a small, growing practice group.

Duties

• Provide labor and employment assistance in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.



• Offer expert advice and counseling to employers of all types in all aspects of the employment relationship.



• Draft offer letters, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, and non-competes to ensure alignment with client objectives and legal requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of broad-based employment counseling experience.



• Demonstrated direct experience in employment law, with a specific focus on transactional work and client counseling.



• Strong analytical, drafting, and communications skills.



• Ability to work effectively in a small, dynamic, and growing team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

• Sophisticated understanding of the legal landscape and market practice conditions.



• Ability to address complex multi-jurisdictional employment and employee benefits matters.



• Capacity to optimize plan design to account for tax and securities law considerations.
