A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Counsel with 6+ years of plaintiff-side litigation defense experience to join its Los Angeles, California team. Duties

• Handle routine and increasingly complex labor and employment matters with minimal supervision.


• Collaborate with senior attorneys on groundbreaking cases involving wage and hour laws, terminations, and workplace violence prevention.


• Review, update, and maintain employee handbooks, standalone employment policies, and agreements.


• Manage internal investigation procedures and stay current with developments in California employment law.


 

Requirements

• 6+ years of plaintiff-side labor and employment litigation defense experience.


• Must be licensed and admitted to practice in the State of California.


• Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for complex matters with intellectual curiosity and practical problem-solving skills.


• Top law firm experience with excellent academic credentials and analytical skills.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.


 

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Experience with wage and hour laws, terminations, layoffs, and internal investigations.


• Ability to think outside the box and find practical solutions to complex problems.
