Job Overview

A law firm seeks a California-licensed Counsel Attorney to join its Mass Torts Practice Group in San Diego, with preference for Los Angeles or San Francisco, though remote arrangements are considered. This role focuses on silica, asbestos, and talc litigation, offering the opportunity to manage complex matters with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating with experienced litigators across all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial.

Duties

• Manage assigned mass tort cases with autonomy, handling all phases of complex litigation from discovery through trial.


• Conduct depositions, draft motions, and engage in oral advocacy while collaborating closely with a team of experienced litigators.


• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and colleagues to advance case strategy and resolution.


• Travel periodically for depositions, court appearances, and other proceedings as necessary to support case needs.


 

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice law in California and be in good standing with the State Bar.


• Willingness to travel periodically for depositions, court appearances, and other proceedings as required by case demands.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active California State Bar license in good standing.


 

Skills

• 2-5 years of litigation experience with excellent written and oral advocacy skills.


• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and across teams.


• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
