Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate attorney with at least three years of experience to join their team. This position is based in the Midwest but offers the flexibility of being fully remote.

Duties

• Evaluate and advise clients on environmental risks related to real estate transactions, financing, and redevelopment.
• Review Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
• Negotiate environmental insurance and aspects of purchase and sale agreements, leases, and loan documents.
• Oversee environmental consultants on investigations and remediations.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies to achieve regulatory closure and other protections.
• Engage directly with sophisticated clients.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently.
• Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong writing skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field preferred.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
