Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Customs and International Trade Attorney in North Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in customs, trade remedies, export controls, intellectual property rights, or FDA-regulated trade work. This role requires a proactive attorney ready to handle complex trade issues independently and become a trusted advisor to clients.

Duties

• Manage CBP enforcement matters, including seizures, penalties, and audits.
• Handle antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings and related litigation.
• Conduct civil litigation before the Court of International Trade and federal district courts.
• Advise on export controls and sanctions, including voluntary self-disclosures.
• Oversee intellectual property enforcement at the border.
• Ensure FDA import compliance, including detentions and import alerts.
• Address forced labor and UFLPA detentions and provide supply chain counseling.
• Engage in trade remedy and evasion matters, including EAPA investigations.
• Participate in publishing, speaking, and teaching engagements.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of direct experience in customs, trade remedy, export controls, IPR, FDA, or trade litigation.
• Experience with CBP, Commerce, ITC, DOJ, or FDA is highly desirable.
• Ability to engage confidently with clients, agencies, and judges independently.
• Spanish fluency is a plus.
• Ability to build a portable book of business is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing.
