Senior Associate - Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its Maryland office. This role offers flexible work arrangements, including full-time remote, hybrid, or onsite options, within a collegial and collaborative environment focused on general liability, professional liability, and toxic tort matters.

Duties

• Manage and litigate complex general liability, professional liability, and toxic tort cases from inception through trial.


• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and prepare for depositions and hearings.


• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and maintain strong client relationships.


• Track billable hours and manage case files using firm management systems.


 

Requirements

• At least 7 years of litigation experience; opportunities exist for those with less experience via separate postings.


• Current and active membership in the Maryland Bar in good standing.


• Superior written and oral communication skills with strong organizational abilities.


• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and LexisNexis.


• Familiarity with case/file management systems is required.


• Strong preference for candidates who can accurately track billable hours.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active Maryland Bar membership.


 

Skills

• Expertise in civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote or hybrid settings.
