A law firm seeks a Family Law Litigation Attorney to join their team in Fredericksburg, VA. This full-time, hybrid role offers work-from-home flexibility for a professional dedicated to providing skilled, compassionate representation in complex legal matters. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload with a primary focus on family law, delivering practical, results-oriented solutions while upholding the highest standards of integrity and advocacy.

Duties

• Meet with clients to assess legal needs, provide clear advice, and develop comprehensive case strategies.



• Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents, and conduct thorough legal research.



• Prepare for and appear at negotiations, conferences, hearings, and court proceedings to advocate for clients.



• Collaborate with firm staff, manage case files and deadlines, and engage in settlement discussions.



• Maintain timely, thorough communication with clients and contribute to firm growth and a respectful work environment.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Virginia or eligibility for prompt admission, with a clean professional record.



• Strong foundation in law with experience in family law matters and familiarity with related practice areas.



• Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law sufficient to address employment-related issues in family or civil cases.



• Ability to provide practical, client-centered legal advice and develop sound case strategies.



• Proficiency in legal research, including case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary sources.



• Skilled in negotiation, with experience in settlement discussions, mediation, and advocating for clients' interests.



• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear, persuasive legal documents.



• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.



• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical practice; prior family law or litigation experience is highly beneficial.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Virginia State Bar membership.
