Duties

• Assess scientific literature, patents, and patent application documents in chemistry and material science.
• Provide insightful opinions on scientific data related to inventions.
• Conduct comprehensive searches for relevant scientific articles and patents.
• Perform in-depth analysis comparing inventions with existing discoveries.
• Compose patent applications with detailed descriptions and claims.
• Draft responses to patent application rejections from patent offices.
• Present ideas and conclusions concisely to colleagues and clients.
• Collaborate with clients on innovative technologies to build IP portfolios.

Requirements

• USPTO admission required.
• Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry, or 3+ years of post-baccalaureate research experience.
• Two or more years of patent prosecution experience.
• Ability to present scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective collaboration and teamwork abilities.

Education

• Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry preferred.
