A law firm seeks an experienced Career Associate to join the Alternative Asset Opportunities Practice Group in New York, NY. This full-time role involves fund investments, co-investments, secondary transactions, and related governance matters for major institutional investor clients. The position requires an attorney with deep investment platform knowledge, capable of working independently and fostering client relationships. A hybrid work arrangement is available.

Duties

• Provide legal support for institutional investor clients, including confidentiality and subscription agreements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate documentation for alternative asset transactions.
• Coordinate with corporate, tax, and regulatory teams to implement transactions accurately.
• Manage recurring matters, track deliverables, and maintain organized records.
• Identify opportunities to improve forms and streamline workflows.
• Apply legal judgment and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission in good standing to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transactional or asset management matters.
• Strong drafting, legal analysis, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of fund investment and secondary transaction documentation.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and teams.
• Experience with document templates and knowledge management resources.
• Proficiency in using artificial intelligence technologies responsibly.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
