Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Multi-State Associate Attorney to join its fully remote practice, with the role based in Pawleys Island, SC. This position requires active licensure in Kansas and at least one other state, with a preference for attorneys licensed in California, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, or Wyoming. Duties

• Independently manage cases from initial intake through final resolution, ensuring timely and effective client advocacy.


• Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategies grounded in thorough factual investigation and rigorous legal analysis.


• Maintain substantive communications with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel.


• Draft, review, and file complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.


• Appear at hearings, trials, and proceedings as necessary, while adhering to structured business hours aligned with U.S. time zones.


 

Requirements

• Active licensure in Kansas and at least one other state, with strong preference for additional licenses in CA, CO, IA, ID, NC, NE, OR, SC, TX, VA, WA, or WY.


• Minimum of three years of substantive legal experience, with prior exposure to Medicaid, administrative appeals, or probate preferred.


• Ability to work self-directed and disciplined in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a centralized support team.


• Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with the confidence to own outcomes from start to finish.


• Willingness to travel for in-person hearings, firm trainings, meetings, and other firm-sponsored events as required.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active bar membership in Kansas and at least one additional state.


 

Skills

• Proficiency in Mac/Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and legal research applications.


• Experience with timekeeping, case management software, and other relevant legal technology tools.


• High level of organization, time management, and personal accountability in a remote setting.


• Persistent, resourceful, and proactive problem-solving abilities with a focus on client advocacy.
