Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Labor & Employment practice group in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 7 years of experience counseling clients on employment issues, reviewing handbooks and contracts, and representing clients in single plaintiff and collective action litigation.

Duties

• Counsel clients on a variety of employment law issues and review employment handbooks and contracts.


• Represent clients in single plaintiff and collective action litigation, including wage & hour, discrimination, and retaliation claims.


• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal writing for litigation and advisory matters.


 

Requirements

• Must be admitted or in the process of being admitted to the Ohio Bar and in good standing.


• Demonstrate a superior academic record, strong work ethic, and excellent writing and research skills.


• Have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in employment law practice.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active Ohio Bar admission or pending admission.


 

Skills

• Experience with traditional labor matters, such as NLRB administrative and enforcement proceedings, grievances, and labor arbitration (preferred).


• Strong analytical and litigation support capabilities.
