Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level to senior intellectual property litigation associate to join its team in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will represent clients in patent disputes involving technologies such as electronic devices, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and mechanical devices. This role offers opportunities to work on matters in federal district courts, ITC, and before the PTAB.

Duties

• Analyze patents and prepare invalidity and infringement contentions.
• Develop case strategy and work with technical experts.
• Draft briefs and other substantive filings, manage discovery, and prepare witnesses.
• Take and defend depositions and contribute to hearings and trial preparation.
• Work directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues across the firm.

Requirements

• Approximately four or more years of patent litigation experience.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience with district court patent litigation; PTAB or ITC experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage substantial responsibilities on complex matters.
• Licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction.

Education

• Degree in computer science or electrical engineering.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
