Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney to join its civil and commercial litigation practice in Houston, TX. Duties

• Manage litigation matters including commercial disputes, contract issues, premises liability, and product liability.


• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda while conducting thorough legal research.


• Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and fact witnesses in state and federal courts.


• Appear in Harris County and surrounding Texas courts for hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.


• Develop case strategy with senior attorneys and communicate directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.


 

Requirements

• Active Texas bar license in good standing, subject to verification.


• 3-5 years of litigation experience preferred, though junior attorneys are considered.


• Interest or experience in general civil litigation, commercial litigation, or insurance defense.


• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines effectively.


 

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Bar card from the Texas State Bar (Required).


 

Skills

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.


• Excellent communication and client-management abilities.


• Experience with construction defects litigation or similar specialties is preferred.
