A law firm seeks a highly experienced Senior Law and Motion Attorney for their hybrid role in Irving, Texas. This position focuses on complex motion practice, dispositive motions, writs, and appellate matters, collaborating closely with litigation and trial teams. The ideal candidate excels in legal research, persuasive writing, and oral advocacy, preferring motion and appellate work over client management. Candidates must be licensed in Texas.

Duties

• Draft, research, and argue complex motions in personal injury cases.
• Handle motions for summary judgment, to strike or exclude experts, and to compel.
• Manage discovery-related motions and motions in limine.
• Prepare responses and replies to opposing motions.
• Address TCPA, discovery disputes, and expert-related issues.
• Engage in appeals, mandamus, and interlocutory appeals.
• Support trial teams with jury charge issues and error preservation.
• Develop trial and appellate strategies.
• Handle post-trial motions, including motions for new trial and JNOVs.
• Draft and argue interlocutory and appellate briefs in Texas state and federal courts.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Evidence, and Appellate Procedure.
• Experience with complex legal issues and trial briefing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
