A law firm seeks an Associate in the Tax practice area to support its expanding Energy Tax group in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves advising clients on complex federal income tax matters related to renewable energy, infrastructure, and project finance. The ideal candidate will bring 3 to 5 years of experience and a strong interest in the intersection of tax law and energy transactions.

• Duties
• Advise sponsors, developers, investors, and lenders on the tax aspects of project development, acquisitions, financings, and joint ventures.
• Provide counsel on federal tax credits and incentives, with a specific focus on those applicable to renewable energy projects.
• Support the expansion of the Energy Tax practice by handling complex transactions and contributing to client service initiatives.

• Requirements
• 3 to 5 years of experience in federal income tax matters, preferably with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, or energy-related transactions.
• Experience advising market participants on renewable energy and infrastructure projects, including project development and financings.
• Admission, or eligibility for admission, to the bar in the jurisdiction of the office in which the candidate is located.

• Education
• Excellent academic credentials, including a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

• Certifications
• Active bar admission or eligibility for admission in the relevant jurisdiction.

• Skills
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills with a focus on client service.
