Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Trademark and Copyright Litigation Associate to join its Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate will possess three to seven years of experience, with a preference for Nashville-based applicants. This role involves collaborating with the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit to manage complex intellectual property matters, including TTAB proceedings and international portfolio management.

Duties

• Manage a broad range of trademark and copyright matters, including large domestic and international portfolios.



• Handle proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and resolve trademark and copyright disputes.



• Address domain name disputes under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and lead anticounterfeiting enforcement efforts.



• Draft and respond to demand letters, provide litigation support, and manage copyright registration processes.



• Negotiate trademark and copyright licensing agreements and technology contracts.

Requirements

• Three to seven years of experience in trademark litigation and TTAB proceedings is a threshold requirement.



• Hold an active bar license in the state corresponding to the office location or commit to obtaining one promptly.



• Demonstrate exceptional judgment, superior interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate legal strategies effectively.



• Show a demonstrated record of working well under pressure and handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Education

• Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active state bar license required or commitment to obtain one.
