A law firm seeks a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property group in Cheyenne, WY, or any of its other offices. The role involves leveraging advanced technologies to handle wireless communications, electronics, AI, software, and standards-essential patents. Duties

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications with a focus on complex technical fields.


• Provide client counseling on intellectual property strategy and standards-essential patents.


• Engage in post-grant patent work and support cross-functional team initiatives.


• Contribute to firm-wide community-building, diversity, and inclusion efforts.


 

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.


• Strong academic record with a technical degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, or equivalent fields.


• Experience in wireless telecommunications, communication networks, electrical hardware, software, computer networks, semiconductors, storage devices, circuits, memory, cloud computing, data security, mechanical inventions, medical devices, or digital health is preferred.


• Demonstrated growth mindset, team orientation, and ability to thrive in an innovative culture.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.


• Technical degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.


 

Certifications

• Active registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.

• Expertise in patent prosecution and preparation.


• Strong understanding of wireless communications, AI, software, and related technologies.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
