Capital Choice Pathology Laboratory seeks to hire a Pathology Support Technician Intern who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Pathology Support Tech Intern you will:
• Provide technical and/or administrative support for the Pathology department and/or gross rooms at various locations.
• Receive pathology specimens from the operating room, endoscopy, labor and delivery and outreach clients
• Accession specimens and prepare tissue cassettes for the pathologist assistant
• Assist with in room procedures and adult/fetal autopsies as needed
• Prepare stained slides for frozen sections and bone marrows
• Ensure and demonstrate commitment to patient safety when accepting specimens from internal hospital departments and external physician clients. •
• Demonstrate the ability to work closely interdepartmentally with professional and clinical staff solving specimen handling issues, including incorrectly submitted specimens with emphasis on minimizing risk to patients.
Qualifications include:
• High School diploma required
• Laboratory experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail
