Position Description:
Sr. Software Verification Engineering Manager for Covidien LP (a Medtronic company) located in Boston, MA. Sr. Software Verification Engineering Manager will lead the Medtronic R&D software verification engineering team to develop and support the next generation robotic assisted surgical system. The Senior Software Verification Engineering Manager should have experience managing and leading verification efforts in a fast-paced environment developing test protocols, comprehensive planning, and tracking team progress for complex software-intensive medical products. This position is responsible for ensuring that the software verification efforts meet the necessary regulatory and quality guidelines and standards. Utilizes methodologies for system (software & hardware) verification, validation, and troubleshooting. Responsible for the Design Verification and Validation of medical device products and robotic software using industry standard software testing methodologies. Coordinates system software verification and validation processes and throughout product Software Development Life Cycle. Utilize software verification best practices and traceability analysis to ensure software design inputs are fully satisfied. Utilizes software test engineering techniques to streamline test development and execution life cycle. Ensure software verification activities comply to Navigates global government and industry regulations for medical devices, including requirements, and standards, such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 14971, ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience with software verification. Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience with each of the following: Managing verification efforts in a regulated environment developing test protocols, comprehensive planning, and tracking team progress; methodologies for system (software & hardware) verification, validation and troubleshooting; Design Verification and Validation of medical device product software using industry standard software testing methodologies; software verification best practices; and global medical device regulations, requirements, and standards to include FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 14971, ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
