Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Senior experience in an AS400 iSeries environment.
Programming experience in RPG (IV, ILE), CL, DDS, OS/400 system commands, and AS/400 system tools SQL, Query and RPG Embedded SQL
Experience using ILE to create procedures and objects.
Strong working experience and hands application development in iSeries/AS400 and be able to contribute to all the aspects of software engineering including design, coding, testing, reviews and support.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Access.


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree
Bilingual English/Spanish
Previous experience with IBM Mainframes.
Working knowledge of DB2, web development, Style Sheets and Crystal Reports.
Previous experience with IBM AS/400 DB2 database development.
EDI ASC X12 experience / Extol is plus.
IBM Web sphere.
Health insurance industry experience.

Schedule : Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm might need to work some weekends and overtime.

Training : Humana offices in Hato Rey
