SUMMARY
Global Asset Technologies (GAT), a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is currently seeking a qualified VMware Horizon Engineer for Suitland, Maryland. The VMWare Horizon Engineer - Mid supports a large federal agency’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment. The VMware Horizon engineer will work on a Tier III Server team required to package software, assist with the implementation of VMware Horizon View, with Gold Image, App Stack creation as well as User Environment Manager (UEM) configuration and tuning.

VDI Golden Image best practices
Creation of golden images w/ automation of image creation a plus
Image optimization concepts and best practices
Application Virtualization concepts and best practices
App Volumes knowledge
App Stack capture best practices
Writable Volumes pros and cons/best use cases
ThinApp knowledge/provisioning experience a plus
VMWare User Environment Manager (UEM) experience
Application profiling
Personalization options
Horizon Smart Policies
Shortcuts creation and targeting
ADMX integration
Application Elevation/Blocking conceptual knowledge (experience a plus)
Experience with error logging/debugging and PowerShell scripting
Responsible for Software Packaging and Patching
Provide support to team members with the tools, knowledge, and support documentation required to support enterprise architecture
Have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed
Perform all other duties as assigned

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Clearance/Citizenship:
Secret
Must be US Citizen
Bachelor’s Degree
3 years of experience
Network or other Certifications needed or specialty experience: 3 yrs ServiceNow
Security CE (or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification)
IAT Level II certification is required before start
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Experience in IT Infrastructure and Virtualization including:
VMware vSphere 6.5
VMware Horizon View 7.x
Storage Solutions
Windows Server
Active Directory
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations
Ability to track, manage, and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technical Knowledge
Solid experience with app deployment and configuration management using SCCM
Participates in the design of these systems in conjunction with IT team
Support the Business Technology Infrastructure team to apply VDI systems technology solutions in support of identified business problems
Responsible for analysis, administration, and support of VMWare Horizon View VDI, thin clients, and other VDI-related technology
Provisions servers including: adding, allocating and managing vDisks for end-user devices
Participates in evaluation, selection, implementation and on-going support of software, hardware and tools used by the Enterprise Infrastructure platform
Responds to End User requests for technical support and assistance within established procedures
Provides operational support for Active Directory, Windows Server, and other Microsoft Application Servers
Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems and responds to escalated requests for technical assistance
Assists in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
