The Software Engineer II will focus on providing engineering development and operations for existing and future Employee Data Services and People Technology platforms. They will work closely with the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. application teams that leverage these platforms in both the data centers and public clouds. This position will serve on a broader team of technology professionals, cooperatively designing and enhancing systems, developing standards, and creating robust technology solutions that deliver real business value to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Key position responsibilities include:
Work as part of an Agile scrum team analyzing, planning, designing, developing, testing, debugging, optimizing, improving, documenting, and deploying complex/scalable/highly available software applications on Distributed Platforms
Candidate should independently manage design, development, Testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Build API and Integration solutions from scratch using leading open-source technologies (Spring/Java/Node)
Excellent understanding of Agile/CI/CD and SDLC processes and automated tools, spanning requirements/issue management, defect tracking, source control, build automation, test automation and release management.
Define, provision and document proper security controls for Employee Data Services and People technology platforms
Ensure that Employee Data Services are secured by monitoring security vulnerabilities and remediating
Automation
Automate and provision Employee Data Services in on-prem and private/public clouds leveraged by **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.
Automate the deployment and monitoring of APIs using a wide variety of open-source tools
Build, scale and secure Employee Data Services and People Technology platforms
Perform zero downtime deployments and configuration changes across multiple globally distributed origins
Minimum Qualifications:
2 or more years of relevant software development/engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
2 or more years’ experience using as a software developer utilizing Java and Spring
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of relevant Java 8 software development experience with Spring Boot and testing frameworks
3 or more years’ experience in web-services design and development (REST/JSON; SOAP/XML/XSLT)
3 or more years’ experience using RDBMS (Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra or MongoDB)
2 or more years’ experience using Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) experience
1 or more years’ experience using object storage (S3 or GCS) with encryption / decryption of contents
1 or more years’ experience with publish-subscribe integration technologies: Kafka or JMS or IBM MQ or Rabbit MQ
Expert knowledge of Design Patterns
Experience building large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures
Experience working with Unit Testing and Mocking Frameworks
