Telematics Test Engineer

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Telematics Test Engineer on a 6 month contract opportunity with a leading company in Minneapolis, MN.
In this position candidates will be provide global Telematics system test engineering support for transport refrigeration units. As the Telematics Test Engineer, the candidate will frequently collaborate with worldwide employees, suppliers, dealers and customers.
In addition, the Telematics Test Engineer will provide engineering expertise for formulating test objectives, designing test cases, creating test procedures, performing testing of systems, sub systems, and components, analyzing results, preparing and presenting test reports of our controls products and refrigeration system.
In conjunction with the above the Telematics Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- coordinate internal and cross-team efforts for test of Electronics and Software projects to ensure that product and customer requirements are verified and validated, necessary milestones are identified and project schedules are met.
- participate on teams assigned to investigate feasibility and/or design of communication technologies, while ensuring the devices meet all identified needs, such as performance, cost, timeliness, manufacturability, compliance and reliability
- lead telematics system verification & validation efforts and system integration teams while participating in reliability improvement teams
- provide technical support for other departments as well as troubleshoot and solve field problems
Additional Qualifications:
- BSEE, or BSME, or BS CompSci Degree and 3 years related experience
- Solid background in telematics hardware and embedded firmware test
- Solid background in electrical interfaces (CAN, RS232, USB)
- Solid background in wireless technology such as GPS, GPRS, WiFi, ZigBee required
- Solid background in TCP/IP protocol
- Demonstrated understanding of web GUI and usability methods
- Demonstrated understanding of web services and back office telematics system integration
- Experience in definitions of telematics system architecture especially for commercial vehicles or off-road equipment - Experience in test development for wireless devices
- Test Lead experience is a plus
