Regional Head Product Development,Financial Lines
Duties: Develop, define regional product development strategy in accordance with Global Product Development and Regional LoB Head and act as “champion” for any matters relating to it. Assist with executing underwriting strategy. Input to existing strategy and/or in develop of new strategy. Assist as subject matter expert for each LoB where appropriate along with Head of LoB and contribute to strategic decisions. Develop entirely new products/solutions for clients. Manage policy wording referrals from underwriters for complex business as appropriate. Underwrite Profitable Business. Assist in underwriting and advising large/critical new and renewal accounts with LoB head and referral underwriters to meet top and bottom line targets (regional and/or global). Assist in negotiate of terms and conditions with brokers and customers. Proactively manage capacity. Assist in managing capacity in various Financial Lines sub-LoBs along with regional LoB head. Underwriting Approach and Compliance. Underwrite in line with LoB governance framework e.g. underwriting authorities, global MSU, underwriting guidelines, rules and principles. Assist in negotiating reinsurance concepts. Assist NA LoB head to propose optimal portfolio structure and anticipate portfolio development trends. Underwrite special / new products during the introduction period (including claims mentoring, sales support, etc.). Market Specifics. Provide regional support for special products and product/endorsement development. Identify regional trends / market developments incl. market potentials. Monitor new legal) developments, coordinate and steer regional / country issues (e.g. securities, D&O and insurance law development).. Proactively liaise with brokers on product/coverage enhancements/market initiatives. Relationship Management. Positively represent AGCS externally to the market. Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in underwriting process, including e.g. MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers). Represents NA Financial Lines internally and externally to customers, brokers, the industry and other organizations. Drive involvement of functional areas including e.g. other LoB teams and regional / local Market Management. Actively support regional LoB specific projects and task forces. Leading People and Knowledge Transfer. Lead a team of product development professionals assisting in the pursuit of developing new business while developing their skills and career path. Work across business lines, forming relationships to ensure regional knowledge sharing with regard to special products / enhancements, specific underwriting knowledge for LoB products.
