Job Description:

The Martinez Refinery refines and markets gasoline and other petroleum products under the Shell brand name throughout the west and Northern Midwest, providing product to Shell branded retail outlets.


Must be proficient in performing preventative maintenance on all makes and models of American made pickups, sedans, minivans, full sized vans, SUVs, backhoes, fire engines, bull dozers, forklifts and hydraulic cranes.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis, repair and parts replacement of the fuel systems on all makes and models of American made pickups, sedans, minivans, full sized vans, SUVs, backhoes, forklifts, fire engines, bull dozers and hydraulic cranes.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis, repair and parts replacement of the braking systems on all makes and models of American made pickups, sedans, minivans, full sized vans, SUVs, fire engines, backhoes, bull dozers, forklifts and hydraulic cranes.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis, repair and parts replacement of the air conditioning systems on all makes and models of American made pickups, sedans, minivans, full sized vans, SUVs, Fire engines, backhoes, and forklifts.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis, repair, and parts replacement of front-end suspensions on all makes and models of American made pickups, sedans, minivans, full sized vans, SUVs, fire engines and backhoes.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis, repair, and parts replacement of ignition systems on all makes and models of American made pickups, sedans, minivans, full sized vans and SUVs.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis, repair, and parts replacement of hydraulic systems on a broad variety of machinery and be able to read hydraulic schematics and apply that information to a hydraulic diagnosis.
Must be proficient in reading trouble codes on equipment that has on-board diagnostic systems and will need to be able to find and follow repair instructions from repair manuals both in on-line and written manuals.
Must be proficient with the diagnosis of diesel fuel systems on a broad variety of diesel engines and machinery.
Must be proficient in reading electrical schematics and be able to apply this information to electrical diagnostics.
Must have accurate and logical trouble shooting skills.
Must be able to maintain a clean work area during repair jobs.

Requirements:


Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have the minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently
Willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without accommodation
Able to work while wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Willing to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends
Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Must currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
