Claims Practice Lead
The candidate will report into the Head of Claims for MRSI and will establish and implement Claims Best Practices for firm, as well as other Department-wide projects to improve technical goals. The Practice Lead will also identify emerging claims trends for firm, and work with stakeholders to develop recommended plans of actions. Will collaborate with Underwriting and Product Development to advance product innovation. Duties: Strategize with Claims teams to reach optimal total cost of claim on high exposure, complex and/or litigated claims. Manage and guide Large Loss process through deep understanding of coverage issues, policy forms, contracts, and changing legal landscape spanning Casualty, Professional and Financial lines. Communicate significant claims issues to Head of Claims and other stakeholders, such as Heads of Underwriting, Actuarial, and Finance. Develop, assess and implement Large Loss protocols and Best Practices for MRSI’s Claims Department.Collaborate with internal and external business partners for in-depth coverage review, product development and claims impact analysis. Identify and forecast key claim and legal trends for Head of Claims and other key MRSI stakeholders. Cultivate and maintain an innovative mindset – consistently look for ways to improve claim efficiencies and outcomes. Oversee claims exceeding claims manager authority, requiring coverage review, and bad faith / extra-contractual claims. Establish claims handling best practices and ensure these procedures are faithfully executed.
