Contract Negotiator
The candidate: Develops negotiation strategy for each contract engagement. Negotiates contracts with external parties and draft contracts in compliance with policies and applicable laws and regulations. Maintains and preserves stakeholder relations with timely follow-up and professionalism. Identifies, evaluates and resolve sponsor, faculty, and departmental concerns related to contracts and contract lifecycle management. Assists with research requests for proposals, including the review of representations and certifications, federal flowdown clauses and project scope, and basic budget review. Maintains accurate and complete contract negotiation files/history, significant telephone conversation summaries, and contract files. Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience is essential. Must have 5+ years of contract management experience in industry or academia. Should preferably have JD degree. Knowledge of contract law and construction principles, FAR/DFARS, CFR, FDA regulations and state laws relating to research and development including ICH/GCP, HIPAA and HITECH is essential.
