Software Manager 2, Bethpage Software FHR Section. Responsible for the functional management and technical oversight of personnel supporting the Triton program, and associated processes and tools, within the Software Engineering Department. Duties include coordinating staffing level requirements, creating direct/contract hiring requisitions, interviewing / hiring, coordination of PMP completion, compensation adjustments, training oversight / approval, assisting employees in career development planning and other routine personnel issues in support of direct reporting employees. Act as the engineering homeroom's primary contact for the coordination of people, processes and tools management, including software metrics collection from the program to the department. Expectations are that these functional duties will occupy an average of 10% to 20% of the selectees time with increased activity levels during PMP and Merit reviews. This is a dual-hat position so the remaining 80% to 90% of the selectees time is expected to be directly funded activities in support of an NGAS program or programs in a software leadership role, preferably supporting efforts aligned with the engineers assigned to the section.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Engineering and a minimum of 9 years of directly related experience in military and/or commercial payload integration and/or software systems engineering development. Candidates must have an active DOD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will currently be in a software leadership role supporting program efforts in Melbourne. .
