Director of Planned Giving
The candidate: Develops a strategic fundraising plan to achieve a high degree of engagement with all planned giving prospects. Maps out successful marketing strategies and activities to achieve success in achieving fundraising goals. Manages a portfolio of 120-140 planned giving prospects with the capacity to contribute $100,000+ through estate and planned gifts. Cultivates and solicits prospects for gifts using planned giving software calculations and proposals. Achieves metrics goals including visits, solicitations, and revenue. Utilizes planned giving software to develop fundraising proposals. Must have in depth working knowledge of planned giving vehicles and tax strategies that apply to specific donors, including charitable bequests, charitable annuities, life insurance, and charitable trusts. Oversees the marketing of the planned giving program, including the development and distribution of the planned giving newsletter, targeted mailings for specific projects and the Jasper Challenge. Maintains the planned giving website. Develops, tracks and reports information relevant to planned gifts, including insurance policies, annuities and trusts. Ensures that the planned giving program is in compliance with federal and state laws. Should have experience in developing strategies for prospects with excellent follow-through. Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred. Must have 5-10 years work experience. Law degree also advantageous.
