Associate Dean
The candidate will be responsible to work with various other units and colleges within the University to create the structure for a strong, interdisciplinary Law & Health Sciences program. Develop and implement a strategic plan for the program; coordinate with other colleges and schools within UIC to develop and manage joint-degrees, certificate programs, and other initiatives in the law and health sciences area, such as medical legal partnerships, grant opportunities, and faculty collaborations. Help craft the JD curriculum and JD programs within law and health sciences and will teach in that program. Must have a Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school or foreign equivalent and another advanced degree in a health science field; broadly defined; have prior experience teaching in a law school on a full-time basis, teaching health-related courses in a law school, and administrative experience in a law school or university. Highly preferred: have earned tenure at another ABA-approved law school or foreign equivalent. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills and demonstrated ability to mentor students is highly preferred. Salary, academic rank and tenure/tenure-track will commensurate with experience and qualifications are needed.
