Job Description:
Network Assistants will be expected to carry themselves in a professional, polite manner when interacting with the campus community. Assistants must be able to follow written and verbal directions from CIS supervisory staff. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, cable terminations, data closet maintenance, phone installations, and assist wherever needed within the CIS department. We are looking for students who can both work independently and as a member of a team.
Responsibilities:
Terminate Cat6 network cables to Cat6 jacks/modules
Test network cables
Correctly label cables, wall plates, and rack connections
Perform maintenance on data closets including cleaning switches and other equipment, replacing UPS batteries, and maintaining labeling standards on cables
Deliver and set up phone hardware
Troubleshoot network issues
Assist CIS Networking staff on various projects
Requirements:
Have and maintain a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA
Be in good judicial standing with the College
Must have excellent communication skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Additional Information:
Wages: $15/hr
