Under the direction of a radiologist, performs and assists with diagnostic ultrasound procedures on adult, geriatric and limited pediatric patients without constant supervision. Responsible for initiating technical procedures such as abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, vascular, and breast ultrasound scans. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed sound waves for radiologic diagnosis or intervention. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Demonstrates service excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology Program Required
Registration in general sonography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) required
Registration in vascular technology by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medial Sonographers (RVT) preferred
BLS by the American Heart Association in Required
2 years of pertinent general ultrasound experience, strong experience in breast ultrasound preferred. Required
