The Senior Web Developer’s primary role is to develop and maintain web based applications, dashboards/reports and other BI solutions. The Developer will work closely with Medical and Operations staff to elicit requirements, make recommendations, and strategically design and implement BI software and systems that provide timely, accurate, and meaningful enterprise data to key users and decision makers in the company so they can effectively analyze business patterns and trends and make informed decisions.
Under general supervision, develops and maintains web applications and dashboards to support our business strategy. Applies application development and BI leading industry practices to successfully design, build and implement solutions to meet the needs of the business. This includes integration with various systems and databases, selecting, gathering requirements, designing and rolling out BI solutions to end users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain web applications.
Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with business users.
Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems.
Lead the integration efforts for merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
Design, code, test, and document new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs.
Develop interfaces from SharePoint portal.
Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.
Work with business to define user requirements for web systems, dashboards and reports.
Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications.
Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.
Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
ASP.NET (VB)
SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008, 2012)
Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
SharePoint (2007/2013) a plus.
Thorough understanding of application development methodologies.
Strong knowledge of good UI practices
Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Very strong customer service orientation.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics or engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, is required.
