PHP Developer - Interactive Media

Profile

Our client, a cutting-edge Digital Multimedia company whose flagship product line is centered around a Video-On-Demand Entertainment Channel, is seeking a seasoned PHP Developer to join a very collaborative team for Web and API development projects for multiple initiatives. You'll be responsible for designing and developing `back-end` components in object-oriented PHP - along with unit and regression testing of all code, and creating and maintaining inline documentation- all while working in under an Agile/Scrum methodology, with very strict Sprint cycles. Your understanding of (and passion for) current open source frameworks, emerging technologies, and website management & server technology is critical.
Responsibilities:
. Design and development of server-side systems components using object-oriented PHP, adhering to established company standards and
product framework/roadmap
. Designing, documenting and executing unit and regression tests for all code developed
. Create and maintain inline documentation for all code developed
. Responsible for backlog grooming, and ensuring that all tickets are correct
. Ensure efficient data exchange between back-end components and 3 different homegrown CMSs, written on PHP/LAMP stack
. Be at all times a consummate professional and be responsible for personal documentation and testing
Required Skills:
. Minimum 5 years of professional PHP development experience and LAMP stack experience
. Strong PHP 5 skills, especially with respect to Object-Oriented patterns
. Exposure to SOAP, REST, XML, JSON / JSONP, Dynamic Content Services (CMS), etc.
. At least 2-3 years of current experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
. Experience with Drupal is a plus (but not required)
. Proven experience designing and executing Unit Testing & Regression Testing
. Capable of understanding business objectives and able to translate business goals into technical design
. Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and be adaptable to the demands of all levels and types of production duties
. Experience with Eclipse (any similar IDE experience is also acceptable)
. Experience with the use of design patterns in code and service oriented software architecture
. Experience with relational databases, data caching systems, and object-relational mapping technologies
. Able to provide portfolio website to demonstrate past projects and skill level
. MUST have experience working in a production product-based environment, where adherence to documentation, promotion, build and release policies is of critical importance
. Must be able to quickly come up to speed on established company
